Two places — STAND by the station, and ROASTERY with its in-house roaster in Yumigahama — from morning to night, part of everyday life in Beppu. Looking for specialty coffee in Beppu? Our Story

A shop that keeps weaving,
beyond “graduation.”

TUMUGU COFFEE began with a single cup in Beppu, after its founder left Tokyo at eighteen. From a mobile cart to STAND, and then ROASTERY. Because a student started it, it is built to be passed on to the next generation. That is what we aim to be.

What is the difference between STAND and ROASTERY?

STAND is a small coffee stand ~3 min from Beppu Station — easy to drop by, great for takeout. ROASTERY is a cafe with an in-house roastery ~8 min away in Yumigahama, with Wi-Fi, power and parking, for a slower stay. (Beans are sold at both.)

What are your opening hours?

STAND opens mainly on Sat & Sun and ROASTERY mainly on Wed, Sat & Sun (subject to change; latest days published each month on each shop's Instagram calendar). STAND is normally closed on Wednesdays except special days such as Silver Week. On open days, STAND is 7:00–16:00 and ROASTERY is 8:00–12:00 and 14:00–23:00 (with a midday break). STAND may close early once the beans run out.

Do you have Wi-Fi and power outlets?

ROASTERY offers Wi-Fi and power outlets — feel free to work or study.

Is parking available?

ROASTERY has 2 parking spaces. STAND is right by Beppu Station, so public transport or nearby parking is recommended.

Can I get takeout?

Yes. Both STAND and ROASTERY offer takeout and dine-in.

Can I buy coffee beans?

Yes. Our house-roasted specialty beans are available at both shops (roasting is done at ROASTERY). Gifts and wholesale for cafes and businesses are also welcome.

Are children and dogs welcome?

Yes, families with children and dogs are welcome. We kindly ask for consideration toward other guests.
